From September 23 through October 25, the M. Rosetta Hunter Art Gallery at Seattle Central Community College featured an exhibit named La Influencia. This vibrant exhibit displayed works by Oaxacan artists Maestro Enrique Flores, Maestro Flugencio Lazo, Maestro Shinzaburo Takeda, Manuel Bernal, Romson Regarde Bustillo, Isidro Fabian, Eva Isaksen and Kamla Kakaria. Artists from Oaxaca’s School of Fine Arts at Benito Juarez Autonomous University of Oaxaca taught several classes and workshops at Pratt Fine Arts Center where students learned techniques of Oaxaca-style art. The growing connection between the Pacific Northwest and Oaxaca is another major theme of the exhibit.
